Growing Mushrooms though is a special task which requires some special care but once you specialize in this field you can reap delicious benefits. Provided below are some important tips to guide you to grow mushrooms.  Apart from the mushroom kit you will require an electric fan, spray mist bottle, and cooking oil spray.

  1. To start with you require a place with stable temperature to place your mushroom kit. You might be required to experiment with various kits at different places to grow mushrooms.
  2. Since, indirect light is suitable to grow mushrooms try providing it and take great care on not putting mushroom box in front of a window where there is direct sunlight.
  3. Mushrooms develop and grow well at humid places, so use a spray bottle to mist the mushroom block. In places having dry climate the need to mist increases whereas in places where the climate is already humid you won't have to spray as often.
  4.  Too much of carbon dioxide hampers the growth of mushrooms therefore you need to have a good air circulation system to prevent carbon dioxide build up. The best suitable place will be a small closet or an enclosed space.
  5. The time to harvest takes around two weeks when the veil that attaches the cap to the stem begins to tear. You can judge it looking at the size of your mushrooms. Harvestable mushrooms must be checked daily by turning the block daily. Gently pluck the mushrooms by twisting and pulling them.
Spray cooking oil on the flap of the growing box to protect mushrooms form insects. Once sprayed it will protect mushrooms by trapping and killing insects before they reach your mushrooms.
