- For recipes requiring mushrooms, you can reconstitute dried mushrooms by adding water to it in a cup or bowl. To do this you have to follow this simple procedure.
- Fill the container till halfway
- Boil water and cover the mushrooms.
- Prevent steam from escaping by covering the container with plastic wrap.
- Check out whether the mushrooms are tender or you must steep for 5-10 minutes.
- Now strain the water but keep it in mind that it’s very flavorful and can be used in your recipe so don’t discard it.
- Now mushrooms are ready to be used in your recipe, all you have to do is chop them and use them as desired.
For stuffing or a casserole i.e. drier dish you can simmer the steeping water for a few minutes to concentrate the flavors and reduce the volume a little, then add it to your dish. This water can be added directly to liquid dishes like soup or sauce. If you notice grit in mushrooms, strain the liquid or pour it off carefully.
